Why getting fit is the best decision you’ll ever make!

Sounds interesting? Let’s hop into it!

Reduces body fat

First things first, working out regularly reduces the body fat percentage, your BMI, i.e body mass index provides an approximate measure of your overall metabolic status. If an individual is overweight to obese categories, a regular program of exercise will definitely help him to bring BMI down to normal levels.

In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults aged 18 years and older were overweight. Of these over 650 million adults were obese.

Hey, but the good news is, the more you exercise the more you’ll work off your body fat because muscle burns off more calories, effectively speeding up your metabolism.

Increases bone strength

Another age related change in the body is the loss of bone mineral strength. Body losses its bone strength at the rate of 1 percent per year, as a result our bones get thinner and weaker.

Once again, exercise and diet are the key to maintaining your bone health. The specific form of exercise required for bone strength involves resistance training i.e Weight-Bearing exercises, Strength training.

The amount of training varies according to your age and physical strength. Start steady and then progress to your full potential.

Builds muscle mass

Our muscle mass plays a crucial role when it comes to fitness, both diet and training is important for building muscle. Muscle is very important to everyone because we need our muscles to survive. Our strength comes for our muscles and how much they are used. If we don’t engage in regular weight-lifting, we’ll loose muscle strength at the rate of -1 percent per year ya that’s right 1 percent!

Resistance training increases muscle strength by making your muscles work against a weight/force. Resistance training includes Squats, Lunges, Deadlifts, Chin Ups / Pull Ups, Bench press, Barbell Curl. A beginner needs to train two to three times a week to gain maximum benefit. A handful of resistance training can be preformed at home which ill share with you in the coming blogs.

Brings about better sleep

Insomnia, the inability to get to sleep or sleep well at night, can be caused by stress, the medications you take, or even the amount of coffee you drink. Insomnia can also be caused by other sleep disorders or mood disorders such as anxiety.

Exercise during the day benefits your sleep at night. The physical exertion you engage in during the day helps your body’s Circadian rhythm to keep in tune. Sleeping better at night also improves the immune functioning and even lowers your risk for heart diseases.

Though, sleep experts recommend that you should not exercise right before you go to bed as it raises your body temperature, speeds up your heart rate, and stimulates your nervous system, which leads to interrupted sleep.

Boosts energy

Feeling sluggish, tired, and sleepy? Just don’t have any energy to do what you need to do? those excuses you’ve been giving to yourself? Skip the extra hours of sleeping in, and head to the training because it’s the training that’ll give your the energy.

It’s true i’ve experienced a boost in my energy levels too. I train regularly and training has now become a part of my life.

According to Robert Gotlin, DO, a specialist in sports medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital New York City, Exercise boosts your body’s fitness and also your mood, both of which contribute to your overall health and well-being.

Hey you made it to the end, I appreciate u bro and i hope that through all of these reasons, you’ve put on your sneakers, gotten out your gears, or decided to call your local gym to find out about classes. No matter what your age is exercise can help you achieve greater physical and mental fulfillment at any age.
